It’s a fact that we’re all suffering from the recession. It is most unfortunate that like many people, the time for me to buy my own home would have to be during these hard times. With my two children getting older and unavoidably bigger, I have no other choice but to consider finding a more suitable home for all of us, instead of having to make do with the cramped space our present apartment provides. I thought it impossible for me to get the necessary financial backing to achieve this, but some of my acquaintances told me about the FHA programs. I’ve heard about it from the other people living in my community. Actually, a neighbor of mine who currently lives in a quaint but comfortable two bedroom house next door was actually able to buy her house through the FHA. I was very relieved to hear that it’s possible to buy a house even with a salary as seemingly meager mine. However, she told me that I’d have to qualify for it. I plan on banking on this FHA program, but I wanted to do a little bit of research to make sure I do qualify for it.
According to my research, the FHA is assistance mortgage loan for people like me who fall under the low income bracket. I got some helpful tips from for first time mortgage holders to deal with the whole ordeal of qualifying for the FHA program. The source said that my financial status shouldn’t show any sign of deliberate bankruptcy because they look for borrowers who have the ability to make the monthly payments. When I discovered this, I was so relieved that despite my small income, I made sure that I have stretched my budget out to avoid any debts or any delinquency in my finances. I also found out that I have to make sure that the home I choose fits my financial condition. In order to avoid foreclosure, I have to be able to pay for a house that is within my means. I mentally scratched out the picture of owning a three bedroom house with a deliciously cozy patio. After those two DIY tips, the last tip I got was to not rely on DIY! It says that I shouldn’t attempt to process everything on my own and should seek the advice of financial experts. I should draw a line between being too stingy and too stupid.
I am quite glad that I was informed of the FHA program, and even gladder to have found some easy-to-understand information and tips that can help ‘newbies’ like me handle a complicated situation like this. I am starting to genuinely believe that nothing is impossible nowadays.
